Hi, I'm Matt and I'm happy you're here!

The only reason I’m able to get so specific about what you might be feeling right now is that I’ve been there. I grew up as a chubby kid with an amazing mother and an alcoholic father who had been hazed by the Vietnam war. For most of my life, I felt embarrassed about the way I looked, had low self-confidence, and carried beliefs about myself that weren’t true around in my pocket at all times.

In 2009, I was in a fatal car accident that broke my pelvis and almost robbed me of my ability to walk, which left me at my lowest point. I smoked half a pack of cigarettes a day, ate fast food at least once a day, and had very little strength in my broken and neglected body.

The next year, I got a job selling memberships at a gym… it’s OK if you chuckle.

Later that year, something that had been in the background of my life since I was a little boy, birthed a light. Jesus started changing everything about me. I even decided to get into better shape. I tried intermittent fasting, keto, a sweet potato diet, workouts from magazines, pills, shots, you name it.

I had no idea what I was doing and was trying to do everything in my power, so nothing lasted long. I gradually began to idolize the results I had grown to so desperately want.

This led to a passion for fitness in my life that resulted in me becoming a fitness coach in 2013. But I, like many believers, was still separating my walk with Christ and my health journey. Until one day, I heard a friend tell me about the importance of what I was doing from a biblical perspective.  As I began to entertain his idea, I started realizing that the majority of my hurdles weren’t actually rooted in nutrition and exercise but in my mental and spiritual condition. This sparked a flame in me and gave me the permission I needed to pursue real transformation in my own life.

I went on to spend the next 8 years of my life perfecting my craft as a health coach and helping believers experience breakthroughs on their health journeys as well. Once I began applying biblical understanding to the knowledge and experience I had as a fitness coach, my entire life changed, and so did the lives of those I was coaching.
